High Altitude Sickness in Dayara Bugyal
It is important to remember that you will be hiking in the mountains and at a higher altitude. This means that it is easier for you to get sick because of the lack of oxygen in the air. There are three main types of mountain sicknesses, HAPE, HACE, and AMS. All three can be fatal so it's important to understand the symptoms and how to recognize them if you do happen to experience any of these symptoms. HAPE is caused by a drop in atmospheric pressure which forces the volume of blood down into the lungs and causes pulmonary edema. It typically occurs above 12,500 feet (3850 meters). Symptoms include an increased heart rate, rapid breathing or difficulty breathing due to congestion. Another way to tell if someone has HAPE is coughing up pink or bloody sputum. The second type of mountain sickness is HACE, which stands for High Altitude Cerebral Edema.
Tips For Solo Women Travellers in Himalayas
It is not advised that solo women trekkers go on a Dayara Bugyal trek without being accompanied by a male family member or friend. If you choose to do the trek alone, make sure you bring a buddy system with you as well as other safety measures like food, water and warm clothing. The best time to visit Dayara Bugyal is between November and February when it's cold. The temperature in Dayara Bugyal ranges from -4°C in winter months to 20°C in summer months.
