The highest peak in the region is Dhauladhar and it is a part of the Himalayan range. The highest point on the pass is located at an altitude of 16,500 feet. The Indrahar Pass can be found at an altitude of 14,000 feet above sea level and it's a part of the Himalayas mountain range. The height of the mountains around Indrahar Pass ranges from 11,600-16,500 feet and this pass belongs to the Himalayas mountain range.
How to Reach Mcleodganj by Air: Gaggal Airport is the nearest airport to Mcleodganj. There are very limited flights for Mcleodganj. Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, is the nearest and major airport to Mcleodganj. One can board a flight till Delhi and then travel to Mcleodganj by bus or car.
Mcleodganj by Road: There are regular services of state government and private buses to Mcleodganj with various cities of north India like Delhi, Chandigarh, Dharamshala etc. You can book the bus through online app or offline at their offices.
Mcleodganj by Rail: Only Pathankot Railway Station located is available around 90 km away as nearest railway station to Mcleodganj. After reach there, you can take taxi or busto reach Mcleodganj.

In summer & spring seasons temperature is here usually 10 to 15 degrees celsius. Therefore, you will have mild cold in spring and enjoyable weather during the summers. Meadows and boulders rocks can see here in summers with the whole green trail. Temperature drops below 0 degrees and the weather becomes too cold. The whole landscape covers in glowy white snow and temperature drops in night till -6 degree Celcius.

Monsoon is very risky for this trek due to heavy rainfall.
Best Time To Visit The best time for Indrahar Pass trek is from April to December, as this is the start of the winter season in Himachal Pradesh. It's also possible for you to visit in February, which is the end of winter. However, it does depend on your physical fitness and also on whether or not it's raining at that particular time. There are several points between Mcleodganj and Indrahar Pass such as Triund, Vishnu Mandir (Waterfall), Kufri (Hill Station) etc. The trek is around 25 km long with an elevation gain of 3000 meters. So one thing is for sure- the difficulty will only keep increasing with every passing kilometer!
